FF: Alive and k1cking!
by Rewolf on 11 November 2008 19:22

Just like last season, the flag Powerhouse Fear Factory has been raging over the EC. By an unfaithful turn of events they were expelled last season however, but this time all the signs are pointing in the good direction, that of the EC XVIII Finals. And that is not the only direction in which they pointed. Having been spotted several times claiming they didn't get enough support from their current organization, Fear Factory X-Fi, their succes in ET has been picked up by another legendary ET MGC!
It is flag k1ck eSports who have picked this team up for the remainder of the EC Season and after that hopefully many other events to come! It even meant for some of the players to return to their old roots, since they were in one of the first few ET teams that k1ck has already had. The Manager and Wrobel had the following to say:
flagk1ck-Spirit: A few days ago we have announced a team in a game that will always take us back to our Quake roots. Today we are announcing another team in a game that will also always be dear to us, ET. Going for the podium at the Clanbase XVIII Eurocup, K1ck will always have friendly faces in Enemy Territory. K1ck has been playing Enemy Territory since the very first day and some of the board members were a part of the first team, so it is always a pleasure to get back at the game. Welcome aboard!

flag/<-Wrobel: We are really happy to join an organisation such as k1ck gaming. We anticipate a strong collaboration to make a prosperous relationship between our squad and k1ck. I'm very thankful for k1ck's reliance and management!

The Line-Up is as follows:
flag Wrobel
flag wiesiek
flag Frag'Stealer
flag dvk3
flag wiaderko
flag Templar

The team that formerly played for Fear Factory X-Fi will be fighting for k1ck eSports Club at the Winners Final of the Clanbase's XVIII Eurocup edition. Facing the former flag The Last Resort team, the outcome of the game will help defining the final podium position and secure, of what they can hope for, a successful future.

New(s) Head !
by Rewolf on 02 November 2008 17:44
This is a little scene update regarding our newly formed coverage crew. Being set up by flag twinzzy, the newly formed coverage crew is working at all their might in order to make Overload one of the top eSports websites around. We have a long way to go, but one we will surely try to walk nevertheless.
However, we have to do that without the co-founder of the idea, flag twinzzy himself. Founding struggling with the duties in real life as well as in the online world, he was forced to resign from is position in order to keep his real life up. Replacing him is the writer which piece you're reading now, flag Rewolf as the new head of the crew.
All of us, at the Overload news crew and management would like to thank flag twinzzy, for that which he did while being part of our organisation and for the dedication he showed while doing that. I personally would also thank him to give me and the other news writers a chance to perform on this level.
We wish you the best of luck in every next step you'll take!

one4-2weeks or not?
by twinzzy on 21 October 2008 23:53
Almost everyone remembers one4one. One4one was a quite successful multi-gaming back in the old days. With teams like "Die Monkey Die" and "Decimated" they did show from what kind of material they where made of. Unfortunately those teams left, and it did look for some months that one4one was completely dead.

After they took some various Enemy Territory teams, they decided to pick up the whole multi-gaming. With picking up the multi-gaming they would give themselves the ability to pick up a Enemy Territory team.

The Enemy Territory team is quite experienced, and got some of the best German players. Besides that they are quite used to each other as they played a lot together the last couple of months

one4one. Enemy Territory's line-up looks like this:

flag humm3l
flag Criaturia
flag Flixx
flag reaz
flag jok3
flag virtu

Some old faces did come back to play this game. I had a quick chat with one the players named flag Flixx:

flag ovr-twinzzy: Hey Flixx, first of all, welcome back in the competive scene of Enemy Territory. Could u tell me what made you motivated to come back to the game.
flag one4one|Flixx:HumM3l just called me on the phone and said to me that there would be a new Highbot Team. I decided to play with my old Teammates again in this years Eurocup. We just fucked it up because we were way to in-active. I'm still kind of inactive since I am addicted to real-life..

flag ovr-twinzzy: Recently you guys joined into one4one, you think this will help to get the team motivated again?
flag one4one|Flixx:We are really motivated to play some good Games. We know each other for a long while now. Our focus is mainly on having fun Together and Crazy Shit-Talks in Ventrilo... The second Focus is to own Clans outthere. No fun = No results..

flag ovr-twinzzy: What do you want to reach with this team?
flag one4one|Flixx:We want to play until the next EC and go for a good Ranking... Our main goal is to keep the Fun on the highest level. .. If i could speak for myself.. I reached my goal, playing 1 Crossfire LAN in my Life.. That's enough..

Also I had a quik chat with the team-captain named: flag Virtu.

flag ovr-twinzzy: Hey Virtu. How did u created this team and what are the main-goals for the team
flag one4one|Virtu:Well, since there is a lack of german teams in the competitive Enemy Territory scene, some of my teammates decided to create a german-speaking team. At first the team came together to have fun and just play some matches, but the time went by and we decided to aim for the next CB-season, because the cohesion was intense and everyone was motivated like never before, means that we wanted to be a bit more serious about gaming in general. In the end we joined one4one to get the support we needed to start to prac for the upcoming season, even if some points disturbed us from joining them. To all intents and purposes it was a good decision to join one4one, even if the community dislikes the fact that one4one took us as their new squad.

flag ovr-twinzzy: How you see the future of you guys in one4one?
flag one4one|Virtu:Time will show how the team will develop, but I'm sure the developement will turn out satisfactory. Some of us are highly experienced, some of us are quite new to such a skill-level, but I'm sure that this specific mix will work out, since all of us are motivated and focused to reach something and enjoy the last days of the game we still love to play. All in all I see a bright future, but I'm sure it's gonna be a tough challenge to stay together as a team and reach the goals we're aiming for.

flag ovr-twinzzy: What are the main goals you got right now?
flag one4one|Virtu:The main goal is of course to participate at the next Clanbase:Eurocup, that's why we wanted to start pracing as soon as possible. Some might say that the Europcup gets worse year after year, but the fact is that you still have to be prepared to participate at such an event. For now we want to work on the teamplay, because it's just necessary if you want to be on top, that's why we'll try to prac as much as we can. In addition we're aiming for the bigger cups and leagues, just to be present

flag ovr-twinzzy: Thanks for your time. I wish u the very best in one4one
flag one4one|Virtu:Thanks mate, it was an honour to answer your questions, good luck in your upcoming projects as well.

Overload wishes the best of luck to the team and organisation.

A new era!
by Adi on 21 October 2008 14:24
One of the hardest and most skilled teams in Finland the last couple of years has been Team Logitech.fi.

But a new team has been formed with an impressive line-up. The team consists of two ex-Four Kings players, two ex-Logitech.fi players and one player who has just come back from the well known Finnish army, before that he was a cZar player, as well as a Logitech.fi backup player.

The new team has the name Team Bangcock and is looking for an organisation to represent.

Marko "owa-" Mattila:

"A week ago I was thinking about starting to play css again, and then I found out that kononen was out from lgt and asked if he was interested, and he was.

So then I just asked god and he asked natu and synt and now we are five, and ready to practice and do some work for success.

We are currently without organisation and looking for one, so we are open for any offers.

You can find us in #team-bangcock - its our temporary team name."

The new Team Bangcock lineup looks as following:
flag Joona "natu" Leppänen
flag Olli "kononen" Salmi
flag Markus "synt" Raatikainen
flag Samuel "god" Räsänen
flag Marko "owa-" Mattila

Coverage? No problem
by twinzzy on 14 October 2008 1:18
Everyone knows that I joined up with Overload some weeks ago. I did this because of the awesome site, and off course because of the management. When I applied to write for Overload I got told to look out for some other decent writers. I received the status "head of coverage" from Xajp & Sainted and I took it actually quite serious.

I started recruiting, but it didn't seem that there was any good news writer out there. Suddenly Sainted and me saw a guy posting reports about Eurocup matches. The guy named Rewolf, did seem a good guy and I didn't hesitate to contact him. After we had some chats, he decided to give it a go.

flag ovr-twnzy: Hey ReWolf, recently you got picked up as a newswriter for Overload, how do you see your future, and how is the rest of your coverage team?
flag ovr-ReWolf: Well, first of all, I would like to say thanks to Overload for this oppertunity. I didn't expect to get picked up with so little references and I am sure I will try to show my best. About my future, I dont know what it holds. I'm sure that I want to explore the Gaming News scene further now that I had a taste of it though. The team I am currently working in is nice and friendly, especially with sean who I'v known for 3 years now (since I started ET). As it looks now, the team as well as the organisation has great chances to grow on bigger and I do hope I can be part of it with the team.

In Rewolfs posts we saw some nice banners, those banner where performed by a guy called Sean. I also decided to Sean into our Coverage team so he could help us out making banners.

flag ovr-twnzy: Hey Sean, recently you got picked up as a designer for Overload, how do you see your future, and how is the rest of your coverage team?
flag ovr-Sean: Hey, Well, I was happy to accept the position at Overload as it's a step into the kind of job i'm looking to do when i'm older, and obviously it allows me to get some experience under my belt. In regards to the other members of the coverage team, i can say that despite the fact that they aren't the most experienced writers in the eSports scene, they do show great potential and I hope to work with them for a long time

Last but not least, Adizz! Adizz is former writer for VAE and is specialized in the Counterstrike scene. He's a great add-on to our news-team.

So I'd like to introduce you to the following Coverage team:

flag twnzy Head of news
flag ReWolf ET/CoD4 Coverage
flag Sean Designer/Interviewer
flag Adizz Counterstrike Coverage

What can u expect from us?
A site who's running smooth and up to date, you'll see every news in our games on our brand new site. Interviews, reports and even LAN coverage will be up soon.

I wish those guys welcome at Overload and hopefully we'll stay together for a longer time.

Special thanks goes out to Overloads management who're still running Overload like how it should be!

4Kings loses cs team
by Adi on 12 October 2008 12:16
Recently the British based organization 4Kings announced that they will part ways with the team they only picked up 2 months ago.

The reason of their departure is told to be this weekend's Inferno Online League finals.
A lack of other top teams and a small prize purse made it clear to the organization not to send the team to Stockholm

This made the team leave 4Kings as they now had to wait another two months for their first LAN event.

Statement by Ian "JavaX" Leckey :
It is with regret that I announce the departure of the 4Kings Counter-Strike 1.6 team. After differences in opinion to the management surrounding this weekend's Inferno Online League finals, the team itself took the drastic measure of leaving the organisation.

The team suffered from numerous line-up changes since it's arrival at 4Kings little over 2 months ago, and stability was always a problem.

I'd like to thank the players for their time in 4Kings, and wish them luck in the future, especially the two rising stars jigetus and danzer.

Its still unknown if the organisation will pick up another team.

4Kings.cs was:

flag Matti "SPIKEONE" Jarvinen
flag Otto "danzer" Dimitrow
flag Jirka "jigetus" Ryhti
flag Slaava "Twista" Räsänen

H2k with changes
by Adi on 09 October 2008 10:09
One of europes best Counter-Strike: Source teams H2k-Gaming has just officialised its brand new lineup, with two players joining them.

It has been a hectic month for the french team. After announcing their new lineup four weeks ago, they have played a lot of tournaments. In the recent RedLine Tournament 3, they finished as 3/4, loosing to Epsilon. At the European Qualifier of the ESL Major Series they lost in the Winner Bracket Round 4 to the spanish powerhouse Banned Brigade. And then in the Loser Bracket final they lost to none other than RedLine.

However, the defeat in the French EPS against team Sunrise was simply too much for the team leader Damien "maLeK" Marcel. He quickly made the decision of kicking Richard "shox" Papillon and Boris "flex0r" Latry, in order to make place for some other star players. Yohann "Ghosty" Conesa & William "Sharigan" Lestoille will be joining up with H2k to make some suprises!

Team leader Damien "maLeK" Marcel had this to say:

The season started very early for us with the French EPS. I had to come up with a line-up of good friends in order to fill the slot we had obtained for H2k during the previous season.
Shox and Flexor accepted to help me out but we knew in a way that this wouldnt be the final line-up for various reasons. Shox and Flexor were not as available and involved into an entire season as we would have asked them to be later on.
I took my time and turned to Sharigan and Ghosty whom I knew already quite well. We have at last just started training completely and carefully.
We are doing it as hard as we can so that we can catch up for lost time and be ready for the MaxLan at the end of this month. I will do my best as I have always done with my previous line-ups in the past at H2k-Gaming.

The new lineup of H2k.Thermaltake CS:S:
flag Damien "maLeK" Marcel
flag William "Sharigan" Lestoille (ex Epsilon, RedLine & extenSia)
flag Yohann "Ghosty" Conesa (ex Epsilon & iGamerz)
flag Mickaël "Spl4sh" Nguyen Van
flag Killian "Sp4rt" Fragu

Coolermaster back in action!
by Adi on 08 October 2008 10:22
The British based organisation, Team Coolermaster has announced their return to CoD4 after releasing their former team due to the fact that they didn't deliver the necessary results and that the team stole various products from the teams sponsors.

Plastic Fanatstic Lovers also known as tetris will be the new CoolerMaster CoD4 team. The team was tipped to make a numerous upsets at the latest i-series lans, but unfortunately for them they happend to be crumbled down under the experience of the much bigger teams.

With the right support, strength and motivation Team Coolermaster blieves that they have a chance to fight among europe's finest.

The first big test for the new team will be the upcoming Multiplay i35 event, which will once again be hosted at Stoneleigh Park.

Statement from David "David" Hunter
HI AGAIN! Ok so we've been playing under the very sexy name of Plastic Fantastic Lovers for a few weeks now, but the time has come for us to move on to bigger and better things. After approaching the very friendly people at Team Coolermaster they were kind enough to agree for us to play under their name. They have a good reputation and so myself and my disciples are all glad to be a part of their organisation (some of us were lucky enough to be a part of it before). We are all looking forward to representing them at i35. <3"

Statment from the organisations manager Daniel "rapture" Humphrey
"I'm pleased to announce Team Coolermaster heading back into the COD4 Community and i feel that we have chosen the right team to live up to the expectations we have. After meeting most of the PFL team at I34 it was a clear choice in asking them to play under the TCM flag, the majority of the team have been together long enough to know whats needed to produce top results. The first test for the team will be at i35 in about four weeks time, I Hope that their dedication and determination will produce some good results in the next 6 months and in the future."

The new Coolermaster.CoD4 lineup:
flag David "David" Hunter
flag Adam "adamz" Karow
flag Jak "jakmo" Mohamed
flag Carl "vasquez" Finch
flag Ryan "raf1" Palmer
